WXCI Winter 2020-21 Update

I’d like to start off by wishing the entire WXCI extended family a Happy Thanksgiving. We are thankful for both our hardworking staff, as well as our devoted base of listeners; the support of whom have kept us up and running through these turbulent times.

Due to concerns about safety during the COVID-19 Pandemic, Western Connecticut State University has decided to close its campuses to the public throughout the rest of this semester and winter break. We consider ourselves lucky to have been granted access to the station to continue working and broadcasting during this time, albeit on a somewhat limited basis. Since access has only been okayed for student and staff members, all of our life members will either be broadcasting remotely or waiting until the campus reopens to continue their shows.

We will be working throughout the next couple of weeks to make the transition to this new mode of broadcasting, which will likely see a slight change in the weekly schedule as a result. Additionally, we will be exerting much more of our time and effort into more online content; including more archived programs on our site/soundcloud, regularly posted articles on our blog, and much more.
